In celebration of Women’s History Month, we’re spotlighting some of the amazing women who make SkyWest the best in the industry.
Anna A. – PSP Mechanic II

Becoming an aviation mechanic wasn’t on Anna’s radar, but it turned out to be the perfect fit for her. With a lifelong passion for building and creating, she enjoys the process of problem-solving and troubleshooting.
After completing her schooling, Anna was looking for a regional airline to join. She came to SkyWest because she had a relative who had only good things to say about working here. She also wanted to be part of a company that would allow her to have more opportunities to work on the entire aircraft and broaden her experience. Throughout her time here she has appreciated the supportive and collaborative environment where she is encouraged to continue to learn and grow.
“I have recently been able to specialize in the electronic component here at SkyWest,” Anna said. “I am constantly learning new things, honing and sharpening my skillset out on the floor, and I am so grateful to be part of a team that encourages continuous improvement so that I can further develop my expertise.”
Kimberly P. – PHX CRJ Captain

Growing up, Captain Kimberly P. attended airshows with her mother and dreamed of one day becoming a pilot. After marrying young and becoming a mother to four children, her aviation career was put on the back-burner. She thought she would never have the opportunity to fly commercially.
When she was 28, Captain Kimberly P. began doing some research into getting her private pilot’s license. She discovered there was a flight school she would be able to attend. In 2006, she was one of only three women in her class.
“I had my kids at home and had to make a lot of sacrifices while I was flying, studying, sleeping odd hours, and doing it all over again the next day,” Captain Kimberly P. recalled. “It was very hard, but the kids were very proud, and I’m glad that they were able to watch me achieve my goals.”
Captain Kimberly P.’s journey is a testament to women that you can be a mother and pursue your dreams. She has been with SkyWest for 13 years now and says she joined SkyWest because it continues to be the best airline in the industry and she appreciates the quality of life and financial stability we offer.
“I am so grateful to my SkyWest family,” Captain Kimberly P. said. “The people here are incredible, I have felt supported and heard in every phase of my life and I have had a wonderful experience here. When people ask me where they should fly, I always recommend SkyWest.”
Zoe M. – ORD Flight Attendant

Zoe is proud to have had the privilege to follow the footsteps of her parents.
Growing up, she was inspired by her father, who was an Olympian. She pursued an athletic career in track and field and was able to qualify for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, where she took home the gold in the 4 x 100 relay event. Making history as the first daughter-father Olympic duo to win medals.
Later in life, Zoe was looking for a career change. Her mother had been a flight attendant, and that was something that she had on her bucketlist to do. She enjoyed the idea of not being tied to a desk and was excited about the prospect of having a dynamic career that changed day to day.
Zoe is grateful for her career at SkyWest and believes that it truly is the best regional in the industry, with the best crews. She is proud to say that she found a job that she thoroughly enjoys and is excited to watch the company continue to grow.
“I have been here 10 years and it has gone by fast,” Zoe said. “Being in aviation is a lifestyle. It can be challenging, but I have always enjoyed rising to the challenge. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else with my life. I have had a great experience here, and I look forward to another 10 years.”
Laura B. – COS MX Admin Assistant

Laura has been with SkyWest for about 25 years. Throughout her career, she has had amazing opportunities to collaborate with her colleagues on many projects across several SkyWest teams
“I’ve always been given the flexibility to create and help others throughout the entire company. Whether it was the annual or quarterly department meetings in LAS, or the opening of new locations, I was there to facilitate all the behind-the-scenes activities across the country,” Laura said. “Before the station support managers were added, I was the support for the stations along with training new managers on the different duties. I also coordinated all travel for many teams.”
Laura is immensely grateful for the many opportunities her SkyWest career has provided her. She cherishes her travel privileges because they have enabled her to explore the world alongside her family.
“We have incorporated travel into everything we do as a family,” Laura said. “If our daughter was learning about the Eiffel Tower in school, we would go see it. It feels like our daughter was practically raised on the plane. I am so grateful that my career with SkyWest has helped to me see the world with my family.”
Rae S. – LAX ERJ Captain

Captain Rae S. began her journey into the aviation field as a flight attendant for another carrier. She quickly fell in love with the aviation industry and appreciated the freedom and flexibility of being able see the world and explore different cultures. She also enjoyed being able to connect with many different people on her travels and on the flight deck.
After working as a flight attendant for a few years, she decided she wanted to dive deeper into the aviation field, so she saved up money to attend flight training school in Florida to pursue a career as a pilot.
Captain Rae S. joined SkyWest after hearing a colleague rave about his experience here. After two years here, Captain Rae S. was able to upgrade to Captain. She said she enjoys challenging herself and appreciates SkyWest’s commitment to excellence and the caliber of her colleagues at SkyWest. She says she has had a phenomenal experience working here, and she believes she has the best job in the world.
Captain Rae S. unique path to becoming a pilot is an inspiration to many and she is passionate about mentoring the next generation of female pilots and offering guidance and support to them. She also believes her background as a flight attendant gives her a unique perspective and helps her to be a better Captain to her crews and passengers.
“When you don’t know anyone in the industry, it can be overwhelming to know where to start, so I enjoy helping women feel more confident and capable entering this field,” Captain Rae S. said. “My very first student ever received her flight instructor certificate just last week. It has been so exciting to see her grow. It was such a full circle moment for me.”
